The open position, based in Zurich, is a key role within the Group-wide SOX 404 Compliance Program. You will function as a ‘Regional SOX Manager’ (corporate title = Vice President) for region Switzerland with a focus on Business Process Controls (i.e. transactional, non-IT controls) and support the line as it relates to the application of the SOX 404 policy and guidance. This will include responsibility for working within the Switzerland SOX team to manage the regional book of work across all phases of the annual SOX cycle and working with resources based in Zurich, London, New York, Raleigh, Pune, and Singapore. This includes monitoring and reporting regional issues and regional status, performing SOX issue assessments on matters arising from a variety of channels (e.g. reported operational incidents, internal audit reports, etc.) and manage the scoping and mapping of regional SOX controls. The role requires you to develop and manage key relationships across a variety of functions and seniority levels (up to Managing Director) and prepare input for various management and committee reporting. You will report directly to a Senior Vice President who leads the regional SOX 404 Program in addition to other Group-wide responsibilities and manage one resource in Pune and one in Zurich.

The SOX 404 Compliance Program, led by a Director based in Zurich, has the mandate to manage compliance with SOX 404 rules for Credit Suisse Group AG (CSG) and Credit Suisse AG (CS). The program is global with regional teams based in Zurich, London, New York, Raleigh, Pune, and Singapore. In addition to SOX, the lead Director also has responsibility for the Valuation-in-Resolution control framework, the Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Reporting Controls Framework, and the build of internal control over financial reporting frameworks for select key legal entities. The SOX 404 Compliance Program is part of the CFO Risk and Control Office (RCO), led by a Managing Director based in Zurich. The CFO RCO has the goal to improve the control environment and control culture and to unify and govern the various control functions and activities across Finance to ensure that CFO control priorities and obligations are appropriately covered from Group and legal entity perspectives. The CFO RCO is responsible for, amongst other key topics, CSG level programs such as SOX 404, General Ledger Account Ownership and Regulatory Reporting Programs. The following work experience and educational background is required.
- You are a CPA or Chartered Accountant and understand US GAAP
- You have 8+ years of SOX relevant experience – achieved either at the Big 4 (on multinational integrated audit engagements, which are PCAOB compliant) or at a multinational bank (within SOX 404 compliance, Group Finance, Internal Audit, etc.)
- You understand SOX methodology – both theoretical and practical
- You have experience in financial services and understand how a multinational bank operates
- You understand the US GAAP accounting standards, processes and typical key SOX controls relating to loans and financial instruments
- You have experience working on a global team and managing resources deployed both locally and overseas
- You are relationship focused and able to build and manage a variety of relationships across the organization
- You are articulate and effectively communicate with stakeholders at a variety of seniority levels (up to Managing Director)
- You understand the external audit cycle and are able to liaise with the external auditors
- You are organized, analytical and will meet strict reporting deadlines
- You are fluent (both written and verbal) in English and ideally also German
