Job Description
Factory Design and Layout: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement factory design strategies, considering factors such as production flow, equipment placement, material handling, and ergonomic considerations. Ensure that the factory layout promotes efficient workflows and maximizes productivity.
Equipment and Machinery Selection: Assist in the selection and procurement of equipment and machinery required for the factory setup. Collaborate with vendors, evaluate technical specifications, and make recommendations based on cost, performance, and suitability for production processes.
Project Planning and Execution: Participate in project planning activities, including timeline development, resource allocation, and budgeting. Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure the timely completion of factory design projects while adhering to quality standards and safety regulations.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the factory design, considering factors such as workflow efficiency, waste reduction, and automation. Collaborate with the engineering team to implement changes and optimize production processes.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure that the factory design complies with all applicable safety regulations and industry standards. Work closely with the safety team to identify and mitigate potential hazards, implementing safety protocols and designing ergonomic workspaces.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of factory design plans, equipment specifications, and project progress. Prepare regular reports and presentations to update stakeholders on project status, milestones achieved, and future plans.
Team Leadership and Support: Provide guidance and support to the engineering team, assisting with technical issues, problem-solving, and decision-making related to factory design projects. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Additional certifications or specialized training in factory design or industrial engineering are a plus.
- Proven experience in factory design, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting, preferably 7 years.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and layout optimization principles.
- Proficient in using CAD software and other design tools to develop factory layouts and schematics.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in factory design.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate resources effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Leadership qualities and the ability to provide guidance and support to a team.
